Clan premieres the third season of ‘Momonsters’
The successful preschool animation series Momonsters premieres its third season tomorrow, Saturday December 20, on Clan. The children’s and youth channel of RTVE is celebrating its 20th anniversary and with this new season expands its offering for younger audiences, coinciding with the start of RTVE’s Christmas programming.
Targeted at preschool audiences, children aged 2 to 5, Momonsters combines entertainment, humor, and educational values in the adventures of its five little monsters: Haha, Hehe, Hihi, Hoho, and Huhu.
This third season is a co-production of Big Bang Box together with RTVE and Baleuko. A project involving a team of around 80 people who have worked with multiple digital materials and short educational pieces to continue entertaining children beyond the screen.
Since the broadcast of its first episodes, the Momonsters animation universe quickly became one of the most-watched series on Clan, both in linear broadcasting and on RTVE’s digital platforms, where it was available in Spanish and English. In December 2023, Momonsters. The Movie was released in cinemas, achieving great audience success.

Yago Fandiño, Deputy Director of Children’s Content at RTVE, supported the co-production from the beginning: “Since we first saw ‘Momonsters’, we were hooked by its magic, its fun, and the educational values it conveys. For us, it is great news to premiere the third season at such a special time as Christmas and to continue the success that began with the series’ debut in March 2020.”
Fernando Alcaraz, executive producer of Big Bang Box, says: “In ‘Momonsters’ we have found what we would have loved to watch as children: teamwork, friendship, values; all told in an adventurous and humorous tone. This third season maintains the spirit of the previous ones. I am sure we will continue adding viewers to the great Momonsters family.”
Egoitz Rodríguez, CEO and producer of Baleuko, adds: “For us it was a challenge to join a co-production of such quality and creative excellence. In addition, it is a bonus to see the ‘Momonsters’ also in Basque on EITB. The premiere of the third season is a great Christmas gift.”
International success
The premiere of the third season in Spain is also the starting point of its international release. The previous two seasons have been broadcast in nearly 100 countries: across much of Europe, including Portugal, Ireland, Poland, Italy, and the United Kingdom; throughout Latin America; in Asia and the Middle East; and in Africa. At recent global animation markets and industry events, such as MIPCOM and MIP Cancun, many television channels and streaming platforms have previewed some of the new episodes and confirmed the acquisition of the third season for their 2026 schedules.
Rise of digital consumption
Following new content consumption habits across all segments, including preschool audiences, RTVE has focused on its Clan YouTube channel, where Momonsters has been the most-watched show for two consecutive years. It is also available in much of the world on El Reino Infantil’s YouTube channel, as well as on TVE Internacional.
